Catavino: Why Should Readers Care about the European Wine Blogger Conference?
-
Robert · 1 year agoI know I shouldn't, but I just want to comment so I can play with your new comment plug-in. Thanks for the opportunity to speak to Catavino readers. I'm really looking forward to this conference.

Bill · 1 year agoRyan, Does the EWBC matter to our (Catavino) readers, and why should they care? Additionally, Will getting European Bloggers together for a conference make any difference? Interesting questions posed to your readers. I'm going to turn it around and ask a few of my own. Why was the EWBC proposed in the first place? What are the goals of the conference (is there a mission statement, for example)? Do any of the goals of the conference relate to the audience? How will those goals translate into action plans? If there are no goals related to the audience, should you create some? You are the ones attempting to create (and expand) demand (i.e. people reading your blogs). You should be telling us why we should care. How is the conference is going improve the experience for the audience? Personally, I believe it does matter. Whether anyone thinks about it, much less caring about it, depends on the bloggers. That be you. BB

Jon · 1 year agoJust reading through your site and I have to say it's full of great content. I've been an avid consumer of Spanish wines for a while now, and in the process of planting some rare Spanish varieties (rare at least in Australia). Also the blogging conference seems a great initiative. I have one of the few wine blogs in Australia (few relative to the rest of the world). Will be sure to track you down when in Spain next.

Gabriella Opaz · 1 year agoJon, thanks so much for the compliment and please look us up the next time you pass through Barcelona!

Bill · 1 year agoRyan, I think your round table topics are directly linked to improving the "wine blog" experience. If there is a way to get consensus on wine rating, at least within the 40 or so Euro-bloggers attending the event, you will have accomplished something. I'm impressed with the amount of effort and thought that has gone into the conference. You and your fellow conference planners deserve a round of . . . take your pick. No further questions. Bill
