    The treatment of Madeira wines was a fascinating read; it is a very stand out process compared to what I've ever learned about wine-making. And, I don't think this should go without saying, excellent tie-in to the theme with Baked Goods.

    By the way, there are other "baked" wines around. Some of the Banyuls wines made in southern Roussillon are aged outside in the sun to develop a "rancio" style and similar bullet-proofing to the Madeiras.
