This article brings up two interesting points. First, I think most consumers do prefer their retail shop of choice to have a website. This helps keep them abreast of future events like tastings or any sales or specials going on. It creates another level of intimacy between the customer and shop because those of us who love their wine depend on their shop's expertise. As far as looking for wine shops in a foreign country, I try to avoid seeking out one in particular. One of the best things about traveling is a 'go with the flow' attitude so often, the best shops or places to eat, are the ones you are not even looking for in the first place!

Thanks Juan Manuel for letting us know that Neryas Vins has a new service that allows customers of the Neyrus Restaurant to buy any wine available in the shop for only 10 euros to pair with their meal.

To clarify, Neyras Restaurant will charge a €10 corkage/service fee for any wine bought from Neyrus Vins. At first glance I read Gabriella's comment as "any wine in the shop for €10" - Finca Dofi? Mas Doix? Yes please!

Juan Manuel, si algun dia decides probar la promocion "cualquier vino en la bodega a €10", por favor avisame!

    Gabriella,

I think it's critical that retail stores carry an online presence. There's a certain consumer pyschology that has emerged over the past decade; people research their shopping online and buy on the spot and others bring their options down to a select few and then enter the physical store with those items in mind.

It's my belief additional points of contact bring ease to the shopper's purchasing journey and allay sentiments of post-purchase regret. Any way a retail store can create said points of contact is a worthwhile investment.
