In the glass, it is a rich, beautiful amber with some copper tones. The complex nose unfolds over a few hours, with intense fig and raisin notes, toffee and spice. A gentle, delicious cinnamon dimension nicely contrasts the fig and toffee notes. The long finish is nutty, with accompanying cinnamon and fig.

I've visited 5 very interesting wineries in the area. Perez Barquero, Alvaear, Robles, Toro Albala, and Coop la Aurora.
Each of them had very interesting wines, and each of them had an own story. I realy would like to follow your advice and visit Torres Burgos and Bodegas Delgado as well. hope to post my comments on the bodegas i visited.

We are happy about your post, but there are more much PX than Bodega Alvear. In this moment we can be sure that PX wine from Bodega Perez Barquero, or from Torres Burgos, or even of Bodegas Delgado or Bodegas Robles, and much more, have an super PX and a better price.

We drink (a very pleasure) PX before eating, not only afternoon.

One of the best PX at this moment is "La Cañada" from Perez Baquero but you must try all of this.
