Great post guys! Almost made me feel like I was there. It's been years since I've been to India but I may have to make a return trip soon...esp. to see the vines!

Great story! All that talk of food and spices makes my mouth water........jealous! I need to find someone I know who's having an Indian wedding so i can be invited! :p

Is Ryan really tall? Or is Gabby a shorty?

Honestly, the second is more accurate. There is approximately a foot separating us, and no matter how high my heels seem to extend, I always fall into the "small woodland creature" category of elves, gnomes and smurfs ;-)

LOL!... I was wondering the same thing! But I'm sure Gabriella holds her own at the wine bars. :)

Welcome home! What an awesome post! We have to talk more about your experience. I've had lots of Indian food in London but having the real thing must have been incredible.

PS "Inside Rioja" is number 1 on my "to do" list after I finish writing the online winery tourism guides to Rioja!

This was a post I was eagerly anticipating. Thank you so much for the look into your experience. I simply cannot believe that first picture in front of the Taj Mahal, not because of the height difference as some have mentioned, but that setting...it doesn't seem real. It looks like something dreamt up you're standing in front of. The colors, food, and culture, it's all so impressive and impossible to completely describe, but you've really done a great job trying. I mean it, thanks.

An excellent overview of your trip that sounds quite fascinating. I am sure that all of us are glad that you were in Delhi and not Mumbai at the time. Hopefully you both will write more about your experiences. I had looked at some of the voluminous photos on Flickr and it looks wonderful.

Gaby - What a wonderful description of your travels... I could almost feel as if I was there (vicariously!). I ate a lot of Indian food while living in the Philippines... beleive it not there was an excellent Indian restaurant in Manila. I would love to see more pics if you have them posted!

    Lots of love and hugs
    Mardee

Hi Gabriella - what a lovely post on India. You write very beautifully and seem (like most of our friends and family) to have had a very visceral reaction to India. It is heartwarming to feel that you have put so much thought into your experience in India and have not limited your descriptors to words like 'polluted 'diverse' or 'colourful'. We really enjoyed spending time with you and Ryan. Thank you for sharing your experiences!!
PS. Our family is actually from West Bengal and not Bangladesh (which was East Pakistan after the partition). It is the Indian part of Bengal!

Ahhh, thank you Rhea for the clarification! I was misinformed, but appreciate you setting me straight! And again, thank you for allowing us to take part in such a beautiful experience. As mentioned, it was a life altering event ;-)

Great read Gabriella. Was hoping to go to the bloggers conference, but clashes with another trip. Regards,
